Maki’s Hair

March 17th, 2010

A portrait of Maki (long hair) and Kajsa (on the left) from the Abake art group sitting next to media artist Yuri Suzuki. They had an exhibition at Clear Gallery (HERE) a few weeks ago. I am typing up the interview i did with them all now. Maki’s hair made me think of Jah Rastafari, so i began listening to Rastafari Elders (HERE), which turned into Michael Rother (HERE), and then somehow Jamie Principle (HERE). What a shameful trajectory.

Great shot, Cameron. Yuri Suzuki is a really entertaining person as well, right? He recently gave a hilarious presentation at Pecha Kucha partly about his ‘Secret Bar’ installation with Abake, but also his intriguing upcoming collaboration with Tenga, a famous brand of Japanese sex toys. (Not that I know anything about that!)

Nice photo, Cameron! But that’s not Kajsa on the left. Kajsa is Swedish and looks like this:

  3. Cameron Says:

It’s not Kajsa or Yuri or Maki (that long black hair is synthetic). These are staff from Tokyo Wonder Site standing in for the artists. Conveniently, all Asians look the same so no one noticed!

  4. Cameron Says:

Yeah Will, Yuri is entertaining! But I didn’t know about the Yuri X Tenga thing. That ups his entertainment factor significantly. The art of sex is never as interesting as sex with art.
